Novant Health names 2 COOs: 6 things to know

Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health has named Joy Greear president and COO of the still-to-be-built Novant Health Mint Hill (N.C.) Medical Center, and Mike Riley will serve as president and COO at Novant Health Huntersville (N.C.) Medical Center, Novant announced.

Here are six things to know about Ms. Greear and Mr. Riley.

1. In her new role, Ms. Greear will support plans for the Mint Hill facility, which is slated for completion in 2018, and continue in her current position as vice president of professional and support services for Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.

2. Ms. Greear has worked for Novant Health for more than two decades.

3. Ms. Greear earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Mississippi State University in Oktibbeha County, and master's degrees in health administration and business administration from Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, N.C.

4. Mr. Riley replaces Tanya Blackmon at the Huntersville hospital.

5. Mr. Riley previously was president of Novant Health's orthopedic hospital.

6. Mr. Riley received a bachelor's degree in psychology and English from NC State University in Raleigh and master's degrees in health administration and business administration from Pfeiffer University.
