NorthBay Healthcare names new VP, CNO: 5 things to know

Fairfield, Calif.-based NorthBay Healthcare has named Traci Duncan, DNP, vice president and CNO.

Here are five things to know about Dr. Duncan.

1. She replaces Kathy Richerson, who retired in July after a 15-year stretch.

2. She comes to NorthBay from the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center, where she served as associate CNO for six years. 

3. Prior to her role at UCSF, she worked as vice president and CNO for Swedish Health System in Seattle.

4. During her 35-year nursing career, Dr. Duncan has gained extensive experience in performance improvement, experience in advancing the professional practice of nursing, and has provided leadership to three Magnet organizations, NorthBay said.

5. In her newest role, Dr. Duncan noted that One of NorthBay's challenges will be to maintain the high level of enthusiasm and the momentum created by the Magnet recognition for nursing excellence.
