North Texas Medical Center CEO, chief nurse unexpectedly resign: 6 notes

Gainesville, Texas-based North Texas Medical Center CEO Chris Zeringue and Chief Nursing Officer Angela Yancey resigned, according to a Gainesville Register report.

Here are six notes:

1. Mr. Zeringue’s decision to depart comes right before Plano, Texas-based Community Hospital Consulting takes over management of North Texas Medical Center.

2. Mr. Zeringue assumed the role at NTMC in January 2017.

3. He now plans on returning to Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas, a King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services facility. He worked at Texoma Medical Center prior to joining NTMC.

4. UHS, which previously managed NTMC, terminated its management agreement with the medical center May 1. CHC signed a five-year management contract with NTMC.

5. Joe Thomason, senior vice president of hospital operations for CHC, will take over as interim CEO.

6. Becky Small will serve as interim CNO. Ms. Yancey will assist with the transition over the next few weeks.
