Shannon Scaturro, MSN, was appointed COO of Greensboro, N.C.-based Cone Health.
Mr. Scaturro brings to Cone a deep well of knowledge in operations leadership of large integrated health systems, according to a June 9 system news release.
Prior to Cone, Mr. Scaturro served as system COO for the University of South Alabama Health System in Mobile.
In his new role, he succeeds Bernie Sherry, who became interim CEO June 1, after Mary Jo Cagle, MD, retired, according to the release.
Cone Health is a nonprofit system with approximately 13,000 employees and more than 150 locations, including five hospitals
