New York’s St. Mary’s names new CEO

Amsterdam, N.Y.-based St. Mary’s Healthcare has named Jeffrey Methven as its new president and CEO, replacing Scott Bruce.

Mr. Methven joins St. Mary’s from the Saratoga Hospital/Albany Med Health System where he served for nearly 20 years, most recently as executive vice president.

“While hospitals across this country are facing many challenges, St. Mary’s Healthcare has a long and rich history steeped in service as a strong Catholic healthcare ministry,” Mr. Methven said in a statement. “I look forward to partnering with our talented team of professionals, medical staff, and board of volunteers to progress the organization forward and ensure that the city of Amsterdam and surrounding communities have access to affordable and quality healthcare for years to come.”

Mr. Bruce has been CEO since the spring of 2020, serving the hospital system for over 25 years in total. 

The hospital group has 46 locations in its service area focused on Fulton and Montgomery counties.
