Sandra Scott, MD, has been appointed CEO of New York City-based One Brooklyn Health after serving in the role on an interim basis since January 2024.
Arthur Gianelli has also been named chief transformation officer, according to a May 8 news release from One Brooklyn. In his new role, Mr. Gianelli will develop an operating model for clinical and operational success and will lead the system’s operational management and cultural environment. He will also streamline and restructure the system’s acute, post-acute and ambulatory operations.
Mr. Gianelli previously served as chief transformation officer at New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System, the release said. He had held the role since April 2019, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Dr. Scott previously served as the executive director of the Brookdale Hospital Medical Center for nearly three years, becoming the first woman, person of color and physician to lead the hospital. She was also chair of One Brooklyn Health’s emergency medicine department.
She succeeds LaRay Brown, whom the board of trustees voted to remove from the CEO role in September 2023.
One Brooklyn Health, formed in 2016, is a safety-net system that includes Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, Interfaith Medical Center and Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, along with their affiliated facilities.
