Rochester Regional Health’s chief medical officer, Robert Mayo, MD, will step down from his role March 31, according to a March 27 LinkedIn post from the Rochester, N.Y.-based system.
Dr. Mayo joined Rochester Regional in 2002 and has served as CMO since 2013, the post said. The system operates nine hospitals and more than 500 care sites.
“During the COVID-19 pandemic, he became the face of our response, leading our teams and our community through an extraordinary time with clarity, compassion and unwavering commitment,” the system said. “Dr. Mayo will now be focusing on mission and ministry work with his church, and we are deeply grateful for all he has contributed to RRH. We wish him every happiness in this next chapter.”
