New York hospital names new chief nursing officer

Effective Jan. 6, Gem Gibbons, BSN, RN, will become chief nursing officer at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center in New York.

Ms. Gibbons has spent more than 20 years in clinical leadership and emergency response management roles. Most recently, she served as director of critical care services at Garden Park Medical Center in Gulfport, Miss., where she managed operations for high-acuity care units. She has also held similar roles with Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare. 

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center is a 171-bed regional medical center and operates the only cardiac catheterization laboratory in Niagara County, in partnership with Buffalo, N.Y.-based Catholic Health, Buffalo-based Kaleida Health and Erie County Medical Center.
