New York health system taps COO

Rockville Centre, N.Y.-based Catholic Health has selected Gary Havican, DHSc, as its next chief operating officer.

Dr. Havican has more than 27 years of experience leading health systems, according to a Feb. 5 news release shared with Becker’s. Most recently, he served as president of Hartford (Conn.) HealthCare’s Central region. 

In his new role, Dr. Havican will oversee operations for Catholic Health’s six hospitals, employed medical group, and home care and hospice services.
