New Orleans East Hospital names Dr. Takeisha Davis CEO: 3 things to know

Takeisha Davis, MD, has been named CEO of New Orleans East Hospital, effective Jan. 11, according to The Advocate.

Here are three things to know about Dr. Davis.

1. In her new role, she will work for New Orleans-based LCMC Health — the company that operates New Orleans East Hospital. She will oversee nine regional offices and 68 parish health units, according to The Advocate.

2. She is currently director of Louisiana’s Center for Community and Preventable Health and medical director and assistant state health officer for the Office of Public Health.

3. Dr. Davis earned her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore and a master’s degree in public health from Cambridge, Mass.-based Harvard University.
