Alan Vierling, DNP, MSN, has been appointed chief nursing executive at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington, N.M.
Over the past 20 years, Dr. Vierling has served in executive leadership roles at several hospitals and health systems. He is the former president of Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Mich. He also served as interim COO of Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Dr. Vierling has been serving as chief nurse at San Juan Regional Medical Center on an interim basis since October, the hospital said in a Dec. 15 news release. The 198-bed hospital is a level 3 trauma center serving the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Utah.
