Deirdre Byrne was appointed chief strategy officer and vice president of marketing for Paramus, N.J.-based Valley Health System.
Ms. Byrne most recently served as vice president of network strategy at Edison, N.J.-based Hackensack Meridian Health, according to a June 15 news release. She also previously held senior strategy leadership roles at New York City-based Montefiore Health System.
In her new role, Ms. Byrne will oversee Valley Health System’s strategic planning and development, government relations, marketing and communications, and community health and community benefit initiatives, according to the release. She will also serve as strategic planning adviser to the system’s board of trustees, according to the release.
Valley Health System announced Ms. Byrne’s appointment alongside the retirement of Megan Fraser, vice president of communications and marketing. Ms. Fraser joined the health system in 1995 and has served in her current role since 2009. She also has led Valley Health System’s community health and community benefit department.
Valley Health System includes The Valley Hospital, Valley Home Care and Valley Medical Group.
