New CEO Named for Maryland’s Kernan Hospital

Michael Jablonover, MD, MBA, FACP, has been named the new president and CEO of James Lawrence Kernan Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation Hospital in Woodlawn, Md., according to a news release from the University of Maryland Medical System.

Dr. Jablonover, who currently serves as the hospital’s vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer, replaces James Ross. According to the release, Mr. Ross is leaving Kernan to serve as president of Chester River Health System in Chestertown, Md.

Dr. Jablonover will begin as CEO on Jan. 18. He received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, N.C., and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center. He holds an MBA with a healthcare specialization from the University of Baltimore, according to the release.
