Nemours taps 1st-ever enterprise chief scientific officer: 6 things to know

Jacksonville, Fla.-based Nemours Children's Health System named Mary Lee, MD, enterprise chief scientific officer.

Here are six things to know:

1. Dr. Lee has served as Nemours' enterprise vice president and physician-in-chief of Delaware Valley operations since April.

2. She previously served as physician-in-chief and professor as well as the Stoddard Chair of Pediatrics at UMass Memorial Children's Medical Center and University of Massachusetts Medical School, both located in Worcester.

3. Dr. Lee has chaired several study sections at the National Institutes of Health and served on the Scientific Advisory Council for National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences at NIH.

4. She is the immediate past-president of the Pediatric Endocrine Society and a past-president of the American Society of Andrology.

5. She is a member of the American Pediatric Society and Society for Pediatric Research.

6. In her new role, Dr. Lee will oversee Nemours' basic science and clinical research efforts.
