MUSC Health hospital CEO steps down

Walter Bennett has stepped down as CEO of MUSC Health Orangeburg (S.C.), effective Sept. 25.

Mr. Bennett stepped down from the role “to pursue other activities,” according to a health system statement shared with Becker’s on Oct. 8.

He was named CEO in June 2023, according to his LinkedIn profile. Before that, he served as division director of operations at Greer, S.C.-based Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.

MUSC Health-Orangeburg includes a 286-bed acute care hospital and 22 medical practices. It is part of Charleston, S.C.-based MUSC Health.
