Mr. Vitale has served as Beaumont’s senior vice president of financial operations since 2007, before which he served as vice president of finance and CFO of Beaumont Hospital, Troy (Mich.).
He replaces Dennis Herrick, who will serve as executive vice president and financial strategy advisor until he retires in May 2012.
