Boone Health said Mr. Greer “plans to return to Alabama to be closer to his family, a decision that the board fully supports and understands.”

Mr. Greer served at the helm of Boone Health since September 2020. His last day was April 21.

Under his leadership, Boone Health transitioned into an independent healthcare organization and strengthened its commitment to the community, the healthcare network said.

“The board of directors would like to express its sincere gratitude to Troy for his dedication,  hard work, and the lasting impact he has had on Boone Health during a pivotal period in its  history,” the hospital release states. “Troy’s unwavering commitment to our mission and his passion for improving the lives of our patients have left a memorable impression on all who worked with him.”

Gene Meyer, who held an executive role at Boone Health in 2020, will serve as interim president and CEO.
