Mission Hospital CEO to step down

Mission Hospital CEO Tarek Salaway is leaving the Mission Viejo, Calif.-based hospital to take a regional executive position with Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente, according to The Orange County Register.

Here are four things to know:

1. In February 2019, Mission Hospital Vice President and CFO Eileen Haubl will take over as interim CEO.

2. Mr. Salaway is returning to the Bay Area with his family, the hospital told The Orange County Register in a statement.

3. Mr. Salaway acted as CEO during most of his three and a half year tenure. The hospital is part of Irvine, Calif.-based St. Joseph Health.

4. Mission Hospital’s board of trustees will launch a national search to fill the CEO position.
