Minneapolis Hospital Announces New CEO

Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis has announced Arthur Gonzalez, DrPH, as the new CEO, replacing Lynn Abrahamsen, who announced her intention to retire in 2009, according to a HCMC news release.

Most recently, Dr. Gonzalez was president and CEO of Tri-City Healthcare District, a public health care system in Oceanside, Calif., for 10 years. He has also served as the CEO of Schumpert Health System in Shreveport, La.; St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas; and Kino Community Hospital in Tucson, Ariz. Dr. Gonzalez also has 17 years’ experience with HCA.

Dr. Gonzalez will replace Ms. Abrahamsen on June 30.
