Lydia Watson, MD, plans to retire as president and CEO of Midland-based MyMichigan Health, effective July 5.
Bryan Cross, PharmD, the health system’s COO, will assume the role of CEO on March 29, allowing for a leadership transition ahead of Dr. Watson’s official retirement, according to a Dec. 17 news release from MyMichigan Health.
Dr. Watson’s retirement follows 29 years with the health system.
A board-certified OB-GYN, she previously served as senior vice president and chief medical officer before becoming CEO in 2022.
She is credited with playing key roles in the acquisition of Ascension Medical Center locations in Saginaw, Standish and Tawas, and in MyMichigan’s collaboration with Central Michigan University and Covenant HealthCare to move CMU’s medical school to the campus of MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw.
