CEO of Michigan’s Beaumont Hospitals to Retire, COO Promoted to Lead the System

Kenneth Matzick, president and CEO of Royal Oak, Mich.-based Beaumont Hospitals, will retire, effective May 31, and COO Gene Michalski has been named as his successor, according to a news release by the hospital system.

Mr. Matzick has been with the health system for 41 years, serving as CEO since 2005.

Mr. Michalski has served as executive vice president and COO of Beaumont since 2006. He previously worked for the system from 1971-1992. Mr. Michalski holds a master’s of science degree in physiology and an MBA from Wayne State University.
