Here are six things to know:
1. Mr. Mullins is senior vice president at Ascension Healthcare and has served as interim CEO of St. John Health System since September 2017.
2. He has also served as president and CEO of Wichita, Kansas-based Ascension Via Christi since July 2016.
3. In his new role, Mr. Mullins will serve as chief executive for all of St. John’s care sites and lead the Kansas and Oklahoma markets under Ascension’s new leadership structure.
4. Mr. Mullins has prior experience as regional vice president at Nashville, Tenn.-based Quorum Health Corp.
5. He also served as a captain of the Medical Service Corps, U.S. Naval Reserves.
6. A fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, he holds a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Trinity University in San Antonio.
