Mavis Bechtle, BSN, MSN, is being promoted to chief hospital clinical officer while retaining her role as senior vice president and system CNO.

Ms. Bechtle joined MetroHealth in September of 2011 to oversee nursing care delivery and quality, and has expanded her role to oversee a number of system departments and services. These include food and nutrition, environmental services, textiles, logistics and transportation, social work, care coordination, pastoral care and the central sterile processing department.

In addition, Christopher Roker is being promoted to senior vice president and chief hospital administrative officer.

Mr. Roker joined MetroHealth in February of 2013 to oversee the surgery and perioperative services departments, and he has since made a significant impact on the areas’ performance, MetroHealth officials said.

Specifically, they touted his success in increasing access, volumes and deployment of physicians throughout the system.

Mr. Roker and Ms. Bechtle will collaborate and focus their efforts on the quality and efficiency of all inpatient sites of service and will direct throughput initiatives in MetroHealth’s inpatient and OR operations.
