Des Moines, Iowa-based MercyOne said Aug. 20 it appointed Mohsin Mirza, MD, as chief medical officer of MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center and MercyOne West Des Moines Medical Center.
MercyOne said Dr. Mirza previously led a regional clinical command center and helped improve patient throughput and capacity management across a health system.
Dr. Mirza is an affiliate associate professor at Creighton University’s school of medicine in Omaha, Neb., according to the university’s website. He has mentored hundreds of medical students and residents, according to MercyOne.
Dr. Mirza will assume the new role Aug. 24.
