Mr. Hiltz has served in the top post at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio, since 2017, first on an interim basis, before becoming permanent CEO in 2018. He is former CEO of Springfield, Ohio-based Community Mercy Health Partners and former president and CEO of Mercy Mt. Airy Hospital in Cincinnati. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Under Mr. Hiltz’s leadership, Mercy Medical Center received national recognition for its care of cancer and heart attack patients and expanding its outpatient and dental services.
Thomas J. Strauss, president and CEO of Cleveland-based Sisters of Charity Health System, will replace Mr. Hiltz as interim CEO. Sisters of Charity Health System is Mercy Medical Center’s parent.
