Mercy Hospital Joplin (Mo.) has named Samuel Atkinson as chief operating officer.
The hospital is part of St. Louis-based Mercy. Mr. Atkinson has been with the health system since 2018, according to a July 20 news release. He has served as practice manager and executive director of operational strategy and excellence, where he oversaw improvements in care access.
Mr. Atkinson has a history of uniting teams, navigating challenges with confidence and delivering measurable results through innovation, disciplined practices and a shared sense of purpose, according to the release.
