HCA Midwest Names New CIO

HCA Midwest in Kansas City, Mo., has appointed Sarah Bloom as its new CIO, according to a report by the Kansas City Business Journal.

Since 2007, Ms. Bloom has served as director of field operations in HCA’s corporate office. As CIO at HCA Midwest, Ms. Bloom will oversee the development and implementation of the health system’s EHR and ensure that HCA hospitals and physicians have access to up-to-date technology.

Ms. Bloom succeeds former CIO Paul Klehn, who left to spearhead an EHR consulting package within HCA, according to the release.
