MD Anderson names new CFO

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston has appointed Ben Melson as senior vice president and CFO, effective May 15.

Mr. Melson previously served as MD Anderson’s CFO and is returning after spending 12 years in a similar role at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.

“Ben is a highly capable and experienced leader who is ideally suited to help us strengthen MD Anderson in the near term and set the stage for the institution to thrive in the long term,” said Marshall Hicks, MD, interim president of MD Anderson. “In addition to his keen focus on achieving favorable financial results, we look forward to him bringing his strong customer service and patient satisfaction orientation to his daily interactions with the entire MD Anderson community.”

Mr. Melson said he is honored to rejoin the MD Anderson team. “I’m extremely optimistic about the future and the trajectory of MD Anderson,” he said.
