McLaren hospital names chief medical officer

Hassan Beiz, MD, has been appointed chief medical officer of Pontiac, Mich.-based McLaren Oakland, effective July 17.

Dr. Beiz is an internal medicine hospitalist by training and most recently served as medical director of clinical quality at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, Mich. He was also the founding chair of the organization’s hospitalist clinical care transformation program.

In his new role, Dr. Beiz will oversee patient safety, quality and care delivery processes at McLaren Oakland, according to a news release shared with Becker’s. The 318-bed hospital is part of Grand Blanc, Mich.-based McLaren Health Care.
