Mr. Mullany is president and CEO of Vanguard Health Systems, New England and Chicago market, and is responsible for seven hospitals with net revenues of around $1 billion. Vanguard is the parent company of St. Vincent Hospital.
Mr. Smithhisler resigned from St. Vincent earlier this week.
