John Colmers, Maryland’s former health secretary, has been named vice president for healthcare transformation and strategic planning at Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore, according to a Baltimore Business Journal report.
In his new role, Mr. Colmers will help Johns Hopkins adapt to healthcare reform and other market forces in the healthcare industry.
Previously, Mr. Colmers was secretary of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene — a $9 billion agency responsible for carrying out programs like Medicaid, public health and regulatory oversight.
