Mark Sparta is Hackensack University Medical Center’s new president: 5 notes

Edison, N.J.-based Hackensack Meridian Health appointed Mark D. Sparta president of Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center.

1. Mr. Sparta is currently vice president of population health for Hackensack Meridian Health, a role he will continue to serve in.

2. He previously served as executive vice president and COO of Hackensack UMC.

3. He has also served as acting CEO of Hackensack Meridian Health Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, N.J., from November 2014 to June 2015.

4. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

5. Mr. Sparta holds a master of public administration degree in health policy and management from Seton Hall University in South Orange, N.J.
