CEO David Proffitt Resigns From Maine’s Acadia Hospital

David Proffitt has resigned as president and CEO of Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems’ Acadia Hospital in Bangor, Maine, effective immediately, according to a Bangor Daily News report.

Mr. Proffitt’s resignation follows a federal investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration last year that discovered several worker safety violations.

Mr. Proffitt led the 100-bed facility since the fall of 2008.
