MaineGeneral names CEO

Nathan Howell was named president and CEO of Augusta-based MaineGeneral Health, effective July 1.

In his new role, Mr. Howell will replace Chuck Hays, who in August announced his plans to retire, according to a news release.

Mr. Howell is president of MaineHealth’s Southern Maine Health Care hospital in Biddeford. Before that, he served as president and CEO of Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg, N.Y. 

MaineGeneral is an integrated, nonprofit health system with 4,600 employees.
