Lynn Wold named CEO of St. Luke's: 4 things to know

Lynn Wold has been named president and CEO of UnityPoint Health – St. Luke's in Sioux City, Iowa, effective June 1.

Mr. Wold replaces current president and CEO Peter Thoreen who has led St. Luke's for the last 12 years and will retire at the end of this year.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Wold.

1. Mr. Wold has 24 years of experience in healthcare administration, most recently serving as COO for St. Luke's, a position he has held since 2008, according to St. Luke's.

2. From July 2014 until early this year, Mr. Wold was interim president at St. Luke's while Mr. Thoreen assumed a dual capacity role as interim CEO of Meriter – UnityPoint Health in Madison, Wis.

3. Prior to joining St. Luke's, Mr. Wold held management positions with a rural hospital, an ambulatory surgery center and a multi-specialty group physician practice all located in southeast North Dakota.

4. Mr. Wold earned a bachelor's degree in business and healthcare administration from North Dakota State University and Concordia College in Fargo, N.D. and Moorhead, Minn. respectively. He completed the Executive Leadership Academy through UnityPoint Health and will soon complete a master's degree in health services administration from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, S.D.
