Lutheran Hospital names chief medical officer

Lutheran Health Network has appointed Dillon Bannis, MD, chief medical officer of its flagship Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind. 

Dr. Bannis joins Lutheran Health Network from Chicago-based Insight Hospital and Medical Center, where he served as CMO and chief medical informatics officer. 

At Lutheran Hospital, Dr. Bannis plans to collaborate with community organizations in Indiana to address social determinants of health and improve the management and outcomes of chronic disease conditions, which was a key focus during his leadership tenure in Chicago, he told  WANE 15.

Lutheran Hospital is a 396-bed tertiary care facility.
