Louisiana system taps chief human resource officer

Lake Charles (La.) Memorial Health System has promoted Shana Scales to chief human resource officer.

Ms. Scales joined the system in 2023 and most recently served as vice president of human resources, according to a Jan. 20 health system news release. Her tenure has included initiatives focused on employee engagement, wellness and workforce development.

Under her leadership, the system earned Great Place to Work Certification and launched “Where Wellness Meets Work,” aligning wellness and health services for staff. She also introduced a “culture Influencers” program to strengthen collaboration across the organization.

Ms. Scales will continue to oversee workforce strategy and organizational culture initiatives in her new role.

Lake Charles Memorial Health System operates a 314-bed acute care hospital, a 54-bed women’s hospital, a 42-bed behavioral health hospital and a primary care clinic.
