Louisiana health system names new COO

Gregory Nielsen was appointed COO of New Orleans-based LCMC Health system.

He assumed the role on Nov. 29, the organization said. 

Mr. Nielsen most recently worked for American Physician Partners, an emergency and hospital medicine management company based in Brentwood, Tenn. He previously served as divisional president of RCCH HealthCare Partners, also in Brentwood, and CEO for CMH Regional Health System in Wilmington, Ohio.

“I have been fortunate and proud to serve the healthcare industry since 1997. However, having the opportunity to join LCMC Health in a leadership role will be the biggest honor of my career,” Mr. Nielsen said in a Dec. 6 news release.

LCMC Health includes six hospitals and 2,800 physicians.
