During his tenure, Mr. Hall oversaw the migration to an Epic EHR in 2019 via a Community Connect partnership with Aurora, Colo.-based UCHealth; converted the radiology suite to digital; and created redundancy of IT systems to prevent downtime. At one time, Estes Park Health relied on a single fiber link into town.
“We had six megabits of internet access when I arrived,” Mr. Hall said in an Aug. 30 news release. “Now, with Trailblazer (the town’s community-owned and -operated internet service), for which we were strong advocates, and other steps forward, we enjoy internet line redundancy and many gigabits of critical broadband service.”
Mr. Hall also dealt with a 2013 flood that cut off internet and cell service, helped ensure a 2019 ransomware attack didn’t affect patient care, and set up an IT hub in a friend’s basement in nearby Loveland during a 2020 wildfire evacuation. He previously worked as an IT director for Experian.
