LifePoint names Jamie Carter COO of Eastern Group: 6 things to know

Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health has named James “Jamie” Carter COO of the company’s Eastern Group of facilities, effective Sept. 28.

Here are six things to know about Mr. Carter.

1. In this position, Mr. Carter will join the Eastern Group executive leadership team, which oversees the operations of LifePoint hospitals and healthcare providers in five states, including Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia and North Carolina.

2. He replaces Victor Giovanetti, who was recently promoted to serve as president of LifePoint’s Western Group.   

3. Most recently, Mr. Carter served as administrator of soon-to-open Baptist Health Medical Center-Conway (Ark.).

4. Previously, he served as COO of Memphis, Tenn.-based Methodist University Hospital, an academic medical center that is part of Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare System in Memphis. He has also served as president and CEO of Crittenden Regional Hospital in West Memphis, Ark.

5. In his experience, Mr. Carter has led significant initiatives in the areas of patient- and family-centered care, physician recruitment and facility renovations, according to LifePoint.

6. Outside of healthcare, he has served as a volunteer firefighter and EMT.
