In an emailed statement, the hospital operator notes that Mr. Gilbert’s resignation was a “personal decision.”
Mr. Gilbert came to LifePoint in August 2006 as senior vice president and general counsel as well as corporate secretary and chief governance officer. While at LifePoint, he also served as chief development officer. Prior to joining the hospital operator, he was partner at Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis in Nashville, Tenn.
“We thank him for his significant contributions to LifePoint over the last decade and wish him all the best,” LifePoint officials said via the emailed statement.
Thus far, there is no indication of who will replace him, according to the report.
