Lee’s Summit Medical Center names CEO

Lee’s Summit (Mo.) Medical Center selected John McDonald to serve as CEO.

Mr. McDonald previously served as COO of Corpus Christi (Texas) Medical Center. He also worked at King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services, where he served in numerous roles, including as COO of Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, Texas.

Mr. McDonald holds a master of healthcare administration degree and MBA from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.

He succeeds Matt Sogard, who is taking on the CEO role at Overland Park (Kan.) Regional Medical Center.
