Daryl Tol is stepping down as leader of Health Assurance Transformation Co., the healthcare unit of venture capital firm General Catalyst, which acquired Akron, Ohio-based Summa Health, according to a news release shared with Becker’s.

Reva Nohria, a longtime healthcare investor at General Catalyst and a founding member of the HATCo team, will succeed him as CEO. Mr. Tol will support the transition and serve as an adviser to General Catalyst, Summa and Percepta, General Catalyst’s managed services organization.

Over Mr. Tol’s nearly five-year tenure at General Catalyst, he built HATCo’s network to nearly 40 health systems and payers while leading HATCo through the final phase of its Summa acquisition. He also served as Summa’s interim CEO for nine months and led the search for a permanent president and CEO, Jennifer Eslinger, who took the helm in September.

“Daryl has been instrumental in turning the vision for HATCo into a reality, from building our health system partnerships to guiding Summa through its first year,” General Catalyst CEO Hemant Taneja said.

Mr. Tol previously served as president and CEO of AdventHealth’s Central Florida Division.
