Here are five things to know about Mr. Wolfman.
1. He joins El Segundo, Calif.-based Paladin Healthcare from George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C., where he served as CEO/managing director. Paladin Healthcare operates the Avanti Hospitals in Southern California and Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
2. During his tenure at GWUH, Mr. Wolfman led an expansion-of-services initiative to meet the complex needs of the community, officials said.
3. He has worked in a wide array of settings, such as investor-owned National Medical Enterprises (now Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare), Renton, Wash.-based Providence Health & Services, and the pre-paid side of medicine at Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente.
4. Prior to GWUH, Mr. Wolfman was CEO of Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, Calif.
5. Mr. Wolfman earned a master’s degree in health services administration from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
