Here are four things to know:
1. In the new role, Mr. Goldberg will be responsible for Banner’s three academic medical centers: Banner-University Medical Center Phoenix, Banner-University Medical Center South in Tucson, Ariz., and Banner-University Medical Center Tucson as well as Banner-University Medical Group.
2. He most recently served as regional president and CEO of Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health’s Illinois region, which includes Loyola University Health System in Maywood, Ill., and Mercy Hospital & Medical Center in Chicago.
3. He succeeds Kathy Bollinger, who is retiring in May.
4. Ms. Bollinger, who played a key role in transitioning the former University of Arizona Health Network into Banner, will help ensure a smooth turnover.
