Lakewood (Calif.) Regional Medical Center brought Michael Paul Amos on board in September to serve as COO, the hospital told Becker's this month.

Mr. Amos started in the role on Sept. 23, coming to the 172-bed, Tenet-owned medical center from Davis Hospital and Medical Center in Layton, Utah, where he most recently served as COO. His previous role focused on the departments of behavioral health, plant operations, laboratory, radiology and risk management. Mr. Amos is credited with helping Davis Hospital and Medical Center secure its designation as a level 3 trauma center during his tenure as COO. Prior to leading operations, Mr. Amos was a risk manager and patient advocate at the 220-bed hospital.

Mr. Amos earned a Master of Public Administration from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
