Lahey names endowed chair of cardiovascular services: 3 things to know

An endowed chair of cardiovascular medicine has been established in honor of Sidney Alexander, MD, chairman emeritus of Burlington, Mass.-based Lahey Health’s cardiovascular division, according to a Burlington Union report.

Here are three things to know about the endowed chair.

1. Frederic Resnic, MD, was named the inaugural Sidney Alexander Chair of Cardiovascular Medicine.

2. The $2 million endowment will fund the chair permanently to advance cardiovascular research and physician education, according to the report.

3. The Sidney Alexander Chair in Cardiovascular Medicine will provide a lasting source of funds to recruit and train cardiologists who “exemplify the highest standards of personalized patient care and a passion for teaching and learning,” according to the Burlington Union.
