Ellinwood (Kan.) Hospital and Clinic has named interim leaders as it continues its search for a new CEO.

Amid the transition, CFO Summer Zink and Chief Nursing Officer Jill Ritchie, RN, were appointed co-interim CEOs, the hospital said in a Dec. 18 news release. Ms. Zink is overseeing administrative operations, while Ms. Ritchie is leading clinical operations.

“The board is confident in the strength of our leadership team and the operational stability of Ellinwood Hospital and Clinic,” board President David Gonzales said in the release. “Our focus remains on providing high-quality, compassionate care while thoughtfully selecting the next permanent CEO.”

The transition follows news that Kile Magner, CEO of Ellinwood Hospital and Clinic since 2015, will step down at the end of 2025. Mr. Magner is set to become CEO of Myrtue Medical Hospital in Harlan, Iowa.

“We thank Kile for his dedication and leadership and wish him continued success,” Mr. Gonzales said. “Ellinwood Hospital and Clinic remains strong, well-positioned for the future, and committed to serving our community.”

A new CEO is expected to be named in early 2026.
