Risant Health, the nonprofit formed by Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente, has appointed three leaders to accelerate the development of the value-based platform, aimed at helping health systems scale value-based care in multipayer, multiprovider environments.

Effective March 3, Deepak Sadagopan joined as business lead for Risant, bringing expertise in care transformation, clinically integrated networks and AI-driven solutions from his previous role as COO of population health at Renton, Wash.-based Providence. He reports to Risant CEO Jaewon Ryu, MD.

KP Medical Foundation physician Chris Cable, MD, and Washington Permanente Medical Group physician Dr. Marc Mora,

Two Permanente Medical Group physicians will serve as clinical leads: Chris Cable, MD, chief clinical officer of KP Medical Foundation, will oversee clinical capabilities, including value-based care guides and AI-driven care tools. Marc Mora, MD, executive medical director for Washington Permanente Medical Group, will focus on clinical network design and value-based strategies.

“This new leadership structure ensures we have the infrastructure in place to continue to evolve the value-based platform, building on our existing momentum and successes,” Dr. Ryu said in a March 18 news release. “Deepak, along with Drs. Cable and Mora, will ensure we’re developing business, clinical and technology solutions that enable health systems to accelerate their strategies and scale value-based care. Most importantly, this will help improve care and experience for patients, members, and clinicians.”

Founded in 2023, Risant and Kaiser Permanente together provide care to more than 13 million people across the U.S.
