Kaiser Permanente names SVP, Fresno service area manager

Tracy Bertagnole was appointed senior vice president and area manager of Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente’s Fresno service area, according to an Aug. 18 news release shared with Becker’s.

Mr. Bertagnole will oversee hospital operations and the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan for an area that includes facilities in Fresno, Clovis, Selma and Oakhurst, Calif., and serves more than 166,000 members, according to the release.

He has held the role on an interim basis since February and joined Kaiser Permanente Fresno as COO in 2024. He has more than 15 years of leadership experience at nonprofit and for-profit healthcare organizations, the release said.

Before joining Kaiser Permanente, Mr. Bertagnole was COO of Ogden (Utah) Regional Medical Center and McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center in Springfield, Ore. Earlier in his career, he held performance improvement manager and director roles at Dignity Health Mercy Hospital Bakersfield (Calif.).

Mr. Bertagnole succeeds Tyler Hedden, who is now senior vice president and area manager of Kaiser Permanente’s Diablo service area, according to the release.

Kaiser Permanente serves 12.9 million members across nine states and Washington, D.C.
